Working with Dr. Kahina Louis has been a true delight and pleasure. Dr. Louis facilitated several sessions for my interns at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) that negated the negative stereotypes of mental health while highlighting the many benefits. Her engagement and vulnerability with the interns allowed them in return to be vulnerable and ask the tough questions. Dr. Louis’s charisma, thoughtfulness and expertise has truly made a lasting impact.

YOUR AUDIENCE WILL WALK AWAY WITH:
Knowledge
The same way I provide evidence-based methods in therapy and assessment, I present the facts. My presentations are based on current research, leaving attendees with accurate information to better navigate their particular experiences.
Insight
While the focus of my presentations can be specific, my overarching goal is to enhance attendee’s global understanding of themselves, their clients, or their world. My speaking naturally provides opportunities for attendees to reflect, question, and apply.
Entertainment
By far, my favorite aspect of speaking is making the crowd laugh and feel at ease. I use humor and vulnerability throughout presentations, in a way that keeps attendees feeling engaged, present, and safe.
Release
As a mental health professional, I have a clear purpose in helping my audience to leave feeling better than they arrived. Through active exercises, like meditation, relaxation, group discussions, and live Q&A, attendees are able to be active participants not only in their learning, but in their individual healing journeys.

Do you accept insurance? No, for various reasons, I do not accept insurance nor EAPs. My therapy sessions are provided via self-pay only. However, your payments may be covered by your insurance Health Savings Account (HSA) card or partially/fully reimbursed by your insurance’s out-of-network benefits. For providers who may be in-network with your insurance, please check out my group practice, Strengths and Solutions, as we may have an insurance-based provider available to meet with you.
-
How can I schedule an appointment to meet with you?The best way to start off is by scheduling a complimentary consultation, in which we can review your needs for therapy to ensure we’re a great fit to work together. If at the end of our consultation, you choose to move forward with services, we’ll have the opportunity to look at our calendars together to schedule your first appointment. Book your consultation here.
-
How long will I be in therapy? This varies greatly by the individual, depending on your specific needs and progress. Some of my clients feel great and ready to move forward without therapy after just two months of services, whereas others appreciate a longer term service and have worked with me for six months to one year or more.
-
How do I know if we’re a good fit?Booking a complimentary consultation is the best way to learn this. During the consultation, we’ll have some time to get to know each other better, and you can feel free to ask me any questions you may have to assure whether I am the right therapist for you. Our first few therapy sessions are also a great opportunity to assess goodness of fit. As we start to get into the groove of working together during those first few sessions, you’ll get a better feel for my style of therapy as well as your level of comfort and commitment to the service.
-
How soon can we start? As long as I do not have a waiting list, I’m typically available to meet with new clients during the following week after our first point of contact.
-
What are your available hours for therapy sessions?I meet with clients exclusively on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, between 11AM-5PM.

Do you offer therapy in-person or online? Both! If you’re in the South Florida area, I’d be happy to have you come by for a cozy session at my private Hallandale Beach office suite. Schedules permitting, we’d be able to have all or some of our sessions in-person, with online virtual video sessions available when needed. If you’re not in the South Florida area or prefer online services, we’d have plenty of availability to meet via live video while you’re in the comfort of your home, on your lunch break, soaking in nature at your local park, etc. Please be advised, due to licensing regulations, I am only able to meet virtually with clients physically located in the state of Florida at the time of session.
